HLF has 12 committees based across the UK, supported by our local teams. The committees meet four times a year.
We recruit for our committee members once a year and encourage applications from a wide range of people. We welcome individuals with experience from across the cultural sector as well as those from other relevant backgrounds. A good mix of personalities and skills enables us to better represent the cultural identity and the diverse communities that we serve.
The role of the committees is primarily to:
- Make decisions on grants from £100,000 to £2m
- Recommend the funding priorities for applications of £2m and above
